Frances Wilson has competed to Prix St Georges level dressage and previously evented to intermediate level. She is classically trained having worked with Sylvia Loch, MaryAnne Horn and Robbie Carpenter and now specialises in teaching as well as producing horses through the levels.
Frances is trained to Grand Prix level. Her current competition horse Menneke (pictured right) is working at Prix St Georges level. She also has a new 3 year old dressage gelding Boston (by Don Primaire out of an Olympic Ferro mare) whom she is currently in the process of backing.
Frances is a British Dressage Registered Trainer and a BD Trainee Judge so can offer riders excellent, correct and focused training. Frances offers a sympathetic, horse-centred, approach to riding, helping you to unlock your horse's full potential and enabling the two of you to really enjoy your time together. She caters for riders of all standards from novice to advanced, in both dressage and jumping. Nervous horses/riders really benefit from her approach.
Frances also competes when time allows. She has ridden in the National Champion Quadrille Team for three consecutive years in 2006, 2007, 2008 - a distinction achieved on two different horses - and trained and managed the champion team in 2009. She and Amy Williams were the London & South East Dressage to Music Pas des Deux Champions in 2008 as well as taking overall Champions at the prestigious inaugural Strictly Come Dressage competition held in December 2008 in aid of the Emile Faurie Foundation. Frances and Menneke also had a very successful showing campaign in summer 2009 (their first ever season) winning several veteran and show hunter classes and championships both ridden and in-hand. Frances also rides sidesaddle and takes part in sidesaddle displays and competitions.
Frances teaches both at her base at Classical Liveries as well as travelling to clients for both individual lessons and clinics. She is much in demand for riding club dressage clinics and offers discounted rates for group sessions. Schoolmaster lessons are sometimes available to clients on her PSG horse Menneke. Please contact Frances for further details.
We hold regular clinics for livery clients with well known outside trainers.
Clients' own trainers are also welcome by prior appointment.
